Phew!! The World Cup kicks off.....yay!!!!

My eyes, like billions of eyes around the world,follow the ball which is like a flake of snow on a green field, as the players skillfully pass the ball around. A huge SIGH escapes my lips as the hosts miss the mark oh-so-closely and sigh!! sigh!! the match ends in a draw. Yup, the football world cup kicks off with a ceremony which draws ooohs and aaahs..Excitement is in the air...even as i think GO BRAZIL GO.As i browse through the channels (am a zapper to a teeny weeny extent), i find people decked in T-shirts of the teams that have captured a place in their hearts. I imagine myself in the red T-shirts of the LA ROJA(Spain for simple minded folks like me). The always analyzing reporters keep predicting the favorites..Brazil, England, Spain, Germany, Argentina, Netherlands, Italy, France....the lists goes on..Tired I flock down on the sofa,open a magazine to read,from which a picture of Cristiano Ronaldo looks up at me.He's not the oly one...oh oh there's Messi , Rooney, Torres ,Kaka, then there are managers like Capallo, Dunga and Maradona.I shut the magazine and go to bed thinking that, whoever lifts the cup, millions of hearts across the world are united by a game called FOOTBALL....
